Development Manager Seeds & Traits
Cambridge
As a member of the Development Team, and as the seed technical expert for the UK, you will be responsible for the management of regulatory and development activities necessary for the commercialisation of oilseed rape and wheat varieties in the UK and Ireland. You will work as part of a cross-functional commercial team providing wide-ranging technical support on seed, including product positioning, technical training, and the co-ordination of trials and demonstrations.
Qualified in a relevant scientific discipline to degree level, you should have at least 5 years’ experience of breeding or seed development within the seed industry, ideally with oilseed rape and wheat. Further knowledge of the agronomy and crop protection of these crops (with BASIS qualification) would be an advantage but is not essential. With a proven ability to project manage field trials and demonstrations, you will have data collection, organisation and analysis skills which lead to the optimal positioning and technical support of new varieties internally and externally. A talent for formal classroom, and in-field presenting is required, as well as a natural desire for co-operative working in multi-disciplinary teams. Relocation assistance will be offered where appropriate.
