We have positions available on our 2010-2011 Harvesting Crew. I have been Contract Harvesting for 28 years and we travel the Eastern States of Australia. We live in Wee Waa Northwestern NSW.A predominantly agricultural town with a population of approximately 2000 people with cereal crops and cotton the main commodities.
We start early October in Southern Queensland and work our way down through NSW. We usually finish up just before Christmas or a little after. We harvest cereals, chick peas and canola.
We harvest about 35,000 acres operating 4 John Deere 9670 STS’s with 42ft headers, auto steer and GPS and 2 25 ton Chaser Bins employing 9-10 lads. We live in 3 A/C caravans with TV’s and DVD’s.We prepare our own breakfast and have our lunch and dinner prepared for us.
Around February-March we travel back up to Southern Queensland to harvest sorghum.
