On behalf of our client, a successful leading nursery specialising in fruit and vegetable plants, we are recruiting a Grower Manager to take responsibility for a 1000 acre site growing fresh horticultural crops to agreed quality standards within budget and to the agreed commercial programme.
Reporting to the board of Directors, the successful applicant must be able to demonstrate sound agronomy knowledge and the ability to constantly improve the operational efficiency. Responsible for the growing and harvesting of all crops to budget and the day to day running of the facility with the ability to organise both self and others with keen attention to detail.
Applicants should have been educated to degree (or equivalent) level with several years experience in a similar role. Specific experience of soft fruit field production is key, as is BASIS and FACTS qualifications. You will also have a sound practical approach from an in-depth knowledge of general horticultural growing practices. We require a individuals with a calm, professional manner with good communication and inter-personal skills.
