The Farm:
Nestled in the heart of Somerset, this family have farmed the here since 1538.
Four family members still have active roles on the farm, having evolved from Farmhouse Cheesemaking, now create Artisan Butter & Mozzarella with milk from this herd.
This dairy farm has a herd of 1,000 cows which are milked 3 times daily with calving all year round. The herd are milked in a 60 point rotary and are housed in cubicles in winter.

The Role:
Our client is seeking a Skilled herdsperson required for large, progressive dairy herd, capable of performing sick cow treatments and herd health-related tasks, some milking duties (3-4 milkings per week), some youngstock and calf work, stockmanship skills essential. AI & foot trimming desirable. TMR experience is also desirable.

Capable of working on their own initiative but absolutely must be a team player.

The Applicant:
We are seeking a candidate with Herdsperson / stockperson experience, a competent milker, excellent record keeper and AI & Foot trimming desirable but not essential.

Additional Info: 

This is a contract position, where the successful person will operate as an agency worker with Farm Solutions. This means that the person will not have sub-contractor responsibilities and all statutory tax deductions and payments will be made by Farm Solutions on their behalf. Hourly pay operates, which includes pay for overtime hours worked.
