Herdsperson in Dorset Ref 2401

The Farm:
Seeking Herdsperson for a 370 commercial herd on a 550-acre farm. Milking is completed twice daily in a 18/36 swingover parlour. The herd is housed on sawdust and sand beds with grazing in the summer. The herd is TMR fed with calving all year round on this farm.

The Role:
The role will involve routine milking duties, herd care, daily recording keeping, implementation of a day-record book and use of a computer system preferred, but not essential. 
Competent milker, with previous experience. 
AI would be an advantage but not essential

The Applicant:
We are seeking an competent Herdsperson with good stockmanship skills, to focus on herd health and improvement. An interest and knowledge on calf rearing and youngstock management would also be preferred. 

Accommodation:
Accommodation available - three-bed semi-detached house on the farm. 

Additional Info:

This is a contract position, where the successful person will operate as an agency worker with Farm Solutions. This means that the person will not have sub-contractor responsibilities and all statutory tax deductions and payments will be made by Farm Solutions on their behalf. Hourly pay operates, which includes pay for overtime hours worked.
