SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to help shape and lead the Farms Group within SRUC for the future. The role includes ensuring that SRUC farms and relevant farm-based facilities provide a high standard of support for agreed SRUC research, education, knowledge transfer and exchange, consulting and public engagement activities; ensuring operational, financial and technical efficiency of SRUC farms, including understanding of operational and financial costing of services and forecasting future investment, in line with SRUC strategy; managing SRUC farm managers; and compliance with relevant legislation – both directly and in liaison with relevant staff across the organisation.

We are looking for a bold, energetic, experienced manager looking for a challenge. You will not be afraid to get involved and actively lead from the front. You will be experienced in getting the best from people, not afraid of detail, have good IT skills, be reliable, conscientious, and self-motivated and be used to delivering on time to demanding deadlines.

Applicants should have a degree in agriculture (or equivalent), and substantial experience of farm management (direct/indirect) - ideally including experience in a research or educational setting, people management and financial management experience.
