WHERE IS THE ROLE LOCATED? Hertfordshire, UK

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE ROLE? Reporting to the Branch Service Manager, this progressive role will assume daily responsibility for the efficient running of one of the Service Department’s key industry sectors. The overall scope of the workshop’s activities encompasses machinery and equipment from the agricultural, construction and groundcare sectors, and as such, the ability to manage a number of projects and jobs from varying sectors and customer bases is paramount, as well as managing a team of well-trained technicians.

WHAT QUALITIES DO I NEED? 

  • Dealing with customers on a day-to-day basis, maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Manage existing customer accounts and build new relationships with customers to increase department growth
  • Be proactive and diplomatic in your approach to dealing with customer enquiries
  • Daily management of staff in accordance with company procedures
  • Maintaining all records efficiently and effectively as required, including the preparation of job cards, liaising with the Parts department for prompt service on repairs as well as the warranty department for compliance
  • Demonstrate appropriate behaviour when dealing with colleagues and customers
  • Good customer relation skills built from previous experience in a demanding customer-facing role
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal diplomatically with customers and manage their expectations during busy periods
  • An appropriate technical background preferably from the agricultural, construction or ground care machinery sectors
  • Good sense of initiative with a multitasking approach
  • Experience in supervising or managing a team of technicians
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Administratively highly organised, with a proactive approach to developing and maintaining systems and processes in order to further enhance departmental efficiency and profitability
  • Living in or prepared to relocate to Hertfordshire – Essential
  • Full UK driving licence required – Essential
