Herdsperson/Aspiring Herd Manager - North Wiltshire
With the looming retirement of our Herd Manager after some twenty years with the herd an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced person to join the team this progressive family farm situated approximately equal distance between Swindon and Marlborough.
This position offers a competent, enthusiastic herdsperson the opportunity to find their feet in the role before taking on the main Herdsperson’s responsibilities in the near future. The farm has expanded considerably over recent years and now carries over four hundred high yielding pedigree Holstein cows, milked 3x daily and averaging close to twelve thousand litres per cow. There is sufficient youngstock in the system to continue with a planned growth of the business in the future. Significant investment has been made in parlour, cow and youngstock housing to facilitate the recent expansion resulting in a modern and efficient working environment for cows and staff. The herd is milked through a Forty-Four point De Laval Rotary Parlour and housed on Sand Cubicles.
We offer a very good package to include first class working conditions together with regular time off and a 3 bed c/h, d/g semi-detached house situated approximately 1.5 miles from the farm in the village of Baydon which benefits from a very good primary school and village shop.
