Northumberland College at Kirkley Hall offer a range of courses in Agriculture and Land-based industries from level one to Foundation Degree level.

It has approximately 200 acres of lowland and 800 acres of upland farm at the head of the Coquet Valley. It has a commercial beef cattle herd with pedigree Aberdeen Angus and around 1000 strong commercial flock of blackface and crossbred ewes. A small amount of arable and outdoor pigs and poultry are occasionally reared.

The College is seeking to employ an experienced, committed and passionate individual to work as Stock person based at Kirkley Hall, Ponteland. The Farm is mainly Beef and Sheep with occasional Arable, Pigs and Poultry. The Stockperson will assist the Farm Manager in the day to day running of the Farm and will ideally have experience of college agricultural provision.

They will provide an inspirational role model to the students and will be expected to support the practical teaching by assisting the teaching staff with preparation of livestock or equipment. They will work with students on their duties to further help develop their skills.

This job will involve working weekends on a rota basis and accommodation will be provided.

Due to the nature of this post you will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure Check.
