We have a contract vacancy for a Herdsperson on a 400 acre family dairy farm milking 300 spring block calving Jersey x cows, yielding towards 6,000 litres of milk with good components and milk quality, on 2 x milking. 

The unit was a new Greenfield site built within the last 10 years and cows are milked via a well maintained 16 x 32 Vacaar swing-over parlour, with feeders, ACR’s along with ADF.  NMR milk recording is practiced 4 x per year.

While housed cows are in sand cubicles that are tractor scraped, with a TMR ration fed.
The appointed person has the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of herd and grassland management, vet visits, calving’s and foot trimming.
