Animal Welfare Committee member - Expert in farm animal welfare with practical experience in the beef and sheep sectors
Provide advice to government on farm animal welfare
The Animal Welfare Committee is an expert committee of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and the Scottish and Welsh Governments. This is your chance to use your knowledge and expertise in animal welfare to provide expert advice that makes a contribution to Government policy in a fast-moving environment.
You’ll come to us with suitable qualifications and current practical working experience, ideally of more than five years, in the beef cattle and sheep sectors, including knowledge of the range of cattle and sheep production systems. You’ll have extensive working knowledge and an active interest in farm animal welfare and the ability to put your views forward clearly and cogently both in writing and orally.
