Lanes Farm Energy (LFE) are currently constructing a large scale Anaerobic Digestion Plant near Pontefract, Yorkshire. The site will be fully operational in December 2019.

The site consists of a CHP enginge as well as a Gas upgrading plant and will use both agricultural feedstockand waste streams.

As a result of steady growth they have a need for 2 individuals to taken on the Plant Operator roles. Whilst the team at present is only three people, it is set to grow.

This role should be seen as one for the long term where you will get the opportunity to further develop your experience and skills.

Role Overview

• The role will be working as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the facility.
• Complete mechanical and or electrical maintenance on equipment across the site.
• Maintenance and operation of pumps waste depack machine, mixers, walking floor feeders and pasteurisers.
• Work with the operational team to ensure that the site is clean and tidy.
• Involved in loading agricultural feedstocks into hoppers.
• Organise the reception and safe handling of solid and liquid food wastes.
• Collect data on process and equipment performance.
• Assist the Plant Manager with preparation of reports for LFE Board of Directors.
• Ensure that the site operates safely and promote a safety first culture.
• Work with the LFE team to ensure the site operates in line with environmental permit.
• Participate in a rota to provide 24/7 standby cover for the site.

Requirements

The role is for someone who enjoys working in a stimulating and fast-moving environment and has high level of energy and initiative.

You will;

• Have experience of planned preventative maintenance of mechanical and/or electrical systems.
• Have experience of stripping and reassembling pumps and gear boxes.
• At least 2 years experience of carrying out maintenance on a large commercial site or farm.
• Operational experience of an anaerobic digestion site or a willingness to learn.
• Understanding of the rules surrounding handling and storage of food waste.
• Full driving license

Qualifications/Desirables

• For electrical specialists – NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent.
• Telehandler experience.
• Confined spaces training.
• A “can-do” attitude
