General Manager, Nursery - Ireland

De Lacy Executive is seeking a Nursery General Manager to take responsibility for the running of a successful Nursery based in Ireland. This is a genuine opening to be part of a progressive business with ambitious growth plans in the international horticulture markets.

This is a unique opportunity for candidates who are already in the sector and looking for their next step. Candidates who have active experience outside the Irish market would be of particular interest to our client.

The position will involve the day to day management of the nursery, dealing with the production, planning and culture of crops at the nursery and grown offsite on behalf of the nursery for export worldwide. The candidate will also be required to provide technical assistance and support to farmers.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will be required to manage both projects and staff. Therefore, a proven track record in operations management in a commercial farm setting will be a distinct advantage.

Further attributes required for the role:

• Experience of exporting products and generating new business
• Previous experience in operations/production management experience would be of particularly interest
• Industry experience and/or a degree in a relevant subject
• Excellent computer and numeracy skills
• Experience in Global G.A.P production regulation would be a distinct advantage
• Excellent organisation and planning skills
• Ideally, experience of managing a team
