Regional Precision Technology Specialist

Recognised throughout UK agriculture for leading industry technical development and agronomic innovation, our client now requires a Precision Technology Support Specialist in the South West to drive their continued growth in Precision Farming through practical knowledge and technical sales expertise. As a market leading provider of agronomy advice, technical services and crop protection products to farmers and customers through their countrywide distribution network our client is committed to continually investing in research and development to enhance their product offer.

The Role

This important commercial role reports to the Head of Precision Technology and is a pivotal appointment for the success of the business selling the precision product offer to the broad farm customer base. The Technology Support Specialist will also be responsible for providing technical and commercial support to the company’s field agronomy teams and farmer customers.  As the ‘go to’ person for advice in the team, it is imperative that you can present concepts and lead technical precision discussions with colleagues, customers and manufacturers. Practical on farm activity utilising a range of precision equipment will also be a key requirement of the role.

The Candidate

To be successful you will need to have relevant practical experience and a technical background of arable or  forage crop production as well as some exposure to the Precision Farming sector. Excellent communication and relationship building skills to assist Agronomists to develop sales to farmer customers are critical required competences as is the ability to identify and propose new concepts for future opportunities for the business. BASIS and FACTS are desirable, but training can be offered to the right candidate Most importantly you must also share our client’s passion for solving problems for their farmers and growers. This role could be ideally suited to a candidate who is currently in farm management who wishes to develop their passion for technology  application and soil management.
