We require a 2IC Herdsperson on a 2500 acre estate.  This is a new position to strengthen the existing team.
We have 450 Holsteins producing milk on a premium contract and rear all our own replacements.  
We require someone that is used to dealing with large numbers of animals as well as being able to lead the milking team by example. We need somebody that can provide support to the Herd Manager as well as take responsibility.  We currently have a team of 7 with a dedicated feeder operator and 4 in the milking team on a fully automated 50 point rotary parlour.
DIY AI and foot trimming skills are required and training can be made available to the right applicant.  Enthusiasm and a strong work ethic are the key qualities we will be looking for as well as the ability to communicate well within the team.  Computer literacy is a must for this position.
