We are currently seeking applications for a Poultry Officer within the Agriculture and Rural Delivery Directorate based in Inverurie. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.
We are looking to fill one post within in the Agriculture and Rural Delivery Directorate’s Animal Health and Welfare Division, Poultry Branch. Admin support is provided through shared resources. The post will be located in N.E. Scotland, although you will be required to work further afield from time to time across Scotland, so a willingness to travel involving some overnights is essential.
Qualifications Required
You must hold a recognised Diploma in Agriculture or Poultry, preferably with appropriate practical experience.
Other qualifications equivalent to these may also be acceptable.
It would be desirable to hold an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to work towards successfully acquiring this qualification.
Essential Criteria
- Recent working knowledge of the poultry industry.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage a varied workload and to meet targets in a flexible manner so as to progress tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively to colleagues and to a wide range of contacts. demonstrating sound judgement and reliability under pressure, and accepting responsibility for subsequent outcomes.
- Ability to analyse, interpret and act upon evidence.
