Crop Health and Protection (CHAP) Ltd is one of four UK Agri-Tech Centres launched under BEIS supported by Innovate UK in 2015. As a unique, independent nexus between UK government, researchers and industry, CHAP builds innovation networks to identify and accelerate the development of cutting-edge solutions to drive transformative change in sustainable crop productivity. To continue their growth CHAP is now wishing to appoint a Business Development Manager to develop a pipeline services for new and existing customers .

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Business Development Manager (BDM) will work with the senior team to develop the pipeline of new business and manage existing customers to improve CHAP’s market position and achieve financial growth. The BDM will engage with the CHAP Partners and leading scientists, working on the capabilities and customer segments to identify and introduce opportunities to agrichemical companies, farmers, agronomy groups, food retailers, seed companies and soil experts, initially in the UK.

The Candidate

The role would suit an experienced Business Developer or Product Manager from the agritech, crop protection or plant science industries. Candidates will demonstrate a proven sales record of taking new products or services to market, a thorough knowledge of the agribusiness sector and passion to understand CHAP’s capabilities and the opportunities to grow sales within this high growth market. Clearly we are also looking for great enthusiasm, communication and presentation skills as well as the ability to build long-term relationships across the sector .
