Our Company
Crop Health and Protection (CHAP) Ltd is one of four UK Agri-Tech Centres launched under BEIS supported by Innovate UK in 2015. As a unique, independent nexus between UK government, researchers and industry, CHAP builds innovation networks to identify and accelerate the development of cutting-edge solutions to drive transformative change in sustainable crop productivity. CHAP is now seeking a Knowledge Exchange Associate on their Gelponics Project - aiming to decarbonise hydroponic food production.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Innovation Network Lead, and as part of the Gelponics team, this role will be responsible for co-ordinating research and knowledge exchange on this project, over its two-year duration. The role will develop a range of knowledge exchange and dissemination activities in collaboration with project colleagues and work with the CHAP Innovation Team and Stockbridge Technology Centre to develop a commercial advisory group to maximise dissemination through organised workshops, demonstration days and targeted case studies.
The Candidate
Suitable candidates will have a post graduate degree and/or equivalent experience of working within a relevant industry sector: environmental science, agricultural technologies or environmental engineering. Candidates will demonstrate experience of transferring knowledge within an academic or business environment (with specific knowledge exchange experience being an advantage). Knowledge of horticulture/hydroponics or hydrogels would be an advantage but not essential.
