B.Sc. & M.Sc. Graduates with either Agriculture or Animal Science degrees are wanted by Shire Consulting, a specialist recruiter for the animal feed manufacturing industry & associated businesses. Shire Consulting will looking to recruit over the summer months for the following career roles: - either Animal Nutritionists or Trainee Technical Sales or as Animal Feed Formulators. This will be an excellent and exciting opportunity for either an animal science or agriculture graduates wanting to make their career in the animal feed and nutrition industry.

 It would be helpful for the animal nutritionist roles   if candidates are qualified at a second degree level either M.Sc or Ph.D.; opportunities exist for both ruminant and monogastric biased graduates.

The successful candidates will have the opportunity to gain experience on all aspects of the feed industry business areas and will be given a wonderful career opportunity for either an animal science or agricultural graduate.  Full support will be given to ensure self development within these role.

Person Specification

 Keen Interest in Agriculture/Farming

Have a degree or equivalent qualification in either Animal science or agriculture

Be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills

Competent I.T. skills including Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word and Power Point) and needs G.C.S.E –Mathematics

Efficient and organised.  Attention to detail is paramount

Have self-drive

Knowledge of nutrition in dairy/ruminant, poultry, pigs and companion animals plus livestock feeding experience would be advantageous

The salary will be commensurate to graduate qualifications and relevant experience.

Location 

It is likely the opportunities will arise throughout Great Britain. Flexibility to relocate will help graduates with increased number of jobs available and in achieving their first career appointment. For those graduates who are unable to relocate and want a role in a designated geographical area, then it is best to declare their career choices and roles; this enables career roles to be sought out – not all jobs are advertised in the press!
