Catchment Sensitive Farming Officers 

Are you passionate about sustainable farming? Want to work with farmers to improve water, air and soil quality and their farm businesses? Then we would love to hear from you. 

Since 2006, Catchment Sensitive Farming partnership; delivered by Natural England and supported by Defra and Environment Agency, have been working with farmers in priority areas to reduce diffuse pollution from agriculture. 

We are now seeking people to work in the East of England who enjoy working with farmers and their communities. You will thrive on being out of the office delivering individual farm visits, tailored advice, training events and support for agri-environment applications. We are interested in applicants who have a variety of experience: farmers, farm advisers and those wishing to develop their career. An extensive training programme will be provided to support your professional development. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Build trusted relationships with local priority farms 
  • Secure voluntary action on farm to improve environmental outcomes 
  • Develop local collaborative relationships with partners to deliver joined-up solutions 
  • Communicate and promote best practice in your catchment, regionally and nationally
