Trainee Tree Fruit Agronomist

The Company

We are looking to appoint a Trainee Tree Fruit Agronomist in the South East for our client who is a financially secure, market leading provider of agronomy services, specialist advice, seed and crop protection products to arable farmers and fruit growers. The business has been very successful in all of its chosen markets by providing excellent field advice backed by the most comprehensive range of cropping and agronomy trials in the UK. Following a series of acquisitions in the amenity and horticulture sector our client now wishes to build on their continued growth by this key appointment. This is an exciting time for the UK fruit industry, as the industry  introduces  more tech solutions, such as disease modelling, drone and satellite imagery, soils technology, robotics and integrated pest management solutions.

The Role

As part of our clients’ Fruit team you will have access to a wealth of experience and technology covering all aspects of Tree Fruit and other high value crop production. Utilizing this unparalleled training and support will ensure that you maximize grower’s yields of top-quality fruit whilst satisfying the ever more complex demands of inputs legislation, protocols and consumer expectation. Due to their success our client  has a range of accounts to handover to ensure that their growers receive the best possible service and you will be responsible for developing long term relationships with the existing  accounts develop new business opportunities whilst learning from the leading technical team in the industry.

The Candidate

To be successful as a Fruit Agronomist you must be committed to gaining relevant industry qualifications and to providing a tailored service to maximize the potential for growers and commercial results for our client.  Ideally you will need a relevant degree however our client is happy to meet with agronomists in training or enterprise mangers who have enthusiasm for delivering new ideas in fruit production. Above all else, candidates must share our client’s passion for developing long term relationships, customer service and supporting their growers to maximize returns.
