The Company

As a result of rapid growth and commitment to developing new natural technologies that deliver global environmental and major crop nutrition benefits, our client now requires a  Chief Agronomist Officer to execute an agreed plan to assist in formulating strategic programs to commercialise the various aspects of the company’s current and future products, programs and platforms. Based in the East Midlands our client is recognised for its world class research and development capability and its highly skilled team of scientists.  The business strategy is totally focussed on innovative product development that would not only bring about environmental but also economic benefits for both farmers and the wider population.

The Role

Reporting to the CTO, this new senior global  opportunity will be  primarily responsible to build up and lead the agronomy activity to ensure the company’s technology is relevant to the current and future Agri-industry practices on our clients target crops which will enable a strategically relevant  commercial product and pipeline  development. You will also ensure field validation  and collaborations are undertaken to the highest standards with the strategic integration of the outputs back into the company programs

The Candidate

To be the successful candidate you must be able to recruit lead and motivate a team by example, work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders and have a relevant degree in crop production and agronomic experience in crop management or field trials.  You will have a strong understanding of industry field practices  and commercial experience gained in industry. Experience of working internationally or with corn , soya , rice or wheat  programmes would be a distinct advantage.  Above all else candidates must share our client’s passion for delivering solutions and be prepared to drive change in a dynamic work environment
