An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our small, hard-working team at The University of Nottingham’s Centre for Dairy Science Innovation where we operate a leading edge dairy facility with up to 350 cows as well as youngstock reared on the farm. The dairy is a centre of excellence in the provision of education and research facilities for both the School of Biosciences and the School of Veterinary and Medical Science at the University and you will be working alongside our students and academics as well as the farm staff.Sutton Bonington Campus (Leicestershire)

This role requires a passion for youngstock rearing and an understanding of calf health, including the detection and treating of illness, a high level of stock management skills together with competence in operating a large amount of farm associated machinery. Flexibility, adaptability and team skills are also key factors as are excellent record keeping skills and attention to detail. Ongoing training will be provided to further develop the role over time.

Candidates should be qualified to a minimum of HND/BTEC in Agriculture, or have equivalent qualifications plus have work experience in a relevant role. Due to the frequency with which the role holder will drive university vehicles a full current driving licence is essential for this role, unless disability precludes this.
