We require an experienced herdsperson to join a small team on a 300 cow family unit in a small Cotswold village close to Stroud.
The high yielding pedigree cows are milked 3x/day through a modern 20/40 and have a herd average of 12500 litres. It is an AYR calving herd using sexed semen and Aberdeen Angus.
The farm has seen recent investment in the way of an additional cubicle house, along with new buildings for the youngstock which are now reared on farm.
The main duties for this role would be milking and general herd health/record keeping with both AI and foot trimming an advantage, however training would be provided for the right candidate. Attention to detail is vitally important along with the ability to take the day-to- day control of the herd.
If you are a progressive minded person who has the drive and enthusiasm to improve both themselves and the herd we would be very interested in speaking to you.
In return we are offering a competitive salary for a 280-day contract and a 3-bedroom bungalow free from rent and rates.
For an informal discussion please contact Adrian Edwards on 07824 480196.
