We are looking for an Arable Farm Manager for our client.  The 730 Ha farm is south of Boston, Lincolnshire. You will be working for an internationally well respected farming organisation managing the farm with full autonomy but with all the support you need from this organisation. The farm is Arable with 600 Ha Combinable plus 130Ha potato production through to packing.

As well as being responsible for day to day activity and leadership of the team you will be responsible for finance,  crop production, agronomy input management, farm development and forward budgeting.  You will be an enthusiastic strong leader, with experience and passion for progressive farming with a strong  focus on potato production. 

The farm is well equipped and comprises of owned, tenanted and short-term tenancy land for which you will be responsible for the day to day activity, cropping production, rotation and budgeting.  You will be rewarded with a good salary and package including a great house on site.

What you will do;

  • Lead and organise a full-time staff of 4 plus harvest casuals and occasional agency staff 
  • Production of the highest quality yield at the optimum cost of production (maintaining the farms standards through all aspects)
  • Maintaining and developing the farms relationships with all suppliers and the rural community
  • Preparation of annual farm planning and budgeting
  • The Purchasing of all seed, fertiliser and sprays
  • Ensuring the farm is implementing all conservation and environmental standards

What you will have;

  • Great farm management and agronomy experience with BASIS and FACTS
  • Experience in potato production is essential
  • Organised with strong communication skills 
  • Ability to seek out new business development and progression for the farm 
  • Experience with machinery maintenance
