UPL Head of Technical Services – Flexible Location

The Head of Technical Services will be responsible for all the technical and development activities for the business with its customers and stakeholders and lead on technical collaboration within the UPL global network. The range of responsibilities will include:
- Leading the technical support activities for the commercial campaigns
- Co-ordinating the technical support to UPL’s customers and stakeholders
- Liaise with key customer influencers and stakeholders
- Lead the technical interface on the Portfolio Management Team
- Assist and Implement product defense and stewardship programmes
- Provide input for business and campaign marketing plans
- Overall technical lead on the UPL Bio-solution business
We are looking for candidates who are clearly self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills who have the clear ability and skill set to lead a team. Candidates need to demonstrate a track record in building and maintaining relationships with customers research institutes and influencers. Ideally candidates will be qualified to degree level in agricultural sciences and have at least five years relevant technical experience. There is a need to have a comprehensive understating of crops and varieties as well as the pests, weeds and diseases in UK agriculture and experience of plant protection strategies coupled with bio-control and biostimulants used in the UK. A BASIS qualification is required for the position. This exciting home based role could present career progression for an individual who has undergone sound and professional training in field trials and product development of crop protection products with either a generic or R&D based company or agronomy business.
