The Company

Fera Science Ltd a national and international centre of excellence for interdisciplinary investigation and problem solving across plant and bee health, crop protection, sustainable agriculture, food and feed quality and chemical safety in the environment. Fera create and deliver integrated, innovative and expert research services and products for their partners in crop protection, chemical and animal health companies, as well as food producers and growers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers and government. They now require an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth and deliver expansion of Fera’s expert services across regulatory services divisions.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Portfolio Director - Regulatory Services, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business in growth with clear ambitions to maintain that rate of growth for the next five years. The Business Development Manager will lead the generation, qualifying and acquisition of business development opportunities in new and existing regulatory service areas (Environmental Fate, Metabolism, Ecotoxicology, Analytical Chemistry)working in partnership with the specific scientific leads, to ensure Fera build sales with new customers in the UK and overseas.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years’ field sales experience in the international chemical regulatory arena with a proven track record of growing target accounts from leads generated. Candidates will also demonstrate a knowledge and expertise in remote and direct sales processes. Applicants do not need a specific qualification in a relevant scientific field, but they do need to have an understanding of the technology to be able to elucidate the breadth of Fera’s expertise and relevant offer into customer value propositions.
