We have a contract vacancy for an enthusiastic experienced herdsperson to work alongside the farmer on a 320-cow herd of organic cows in Dorset. 

The farm is part of a mixed farming enterprise that is family managed and operated, running 3 organic dairy herds on Arla contracts.  This herd is milked in a new 20-40 Fullwood parlour with ACR’s, with all new handling facilities and updated housing.

The herd is autumn calving with maximum production from grazing when conditions allow and a grass based TMR while housed.  Cubicle housing is available with sawdust beds over mattresses.  

The appointed person who will have a can-do attitude is expected to be a team player, easy going and capable of working alone as required. 

Help is available at all times especially peaks in workload.  AI and foot trimming are an advantage, but clean milk production is a priority.
