Estate Manager

An exceptional opportunity to manage an estate business of about 6,500 acres with a 4,350 acre arable enterprise plus extensive woodland, environmental and wild sporting interests centred in the Test Valley in Hampshire.

The current estate manager, only the third in over 60 years, is due to retire on 30 June 2021. The estate is looking for a new manager who will ideally have at least 15 years of senior farm management experience and be capable of managing of all other aspects of the estates including a large, let property portfolio; approximately 1,500 acres of managed woodland; significant environmental stewardship schemes; a wild partridge shoot and an exceptional, wild fishery on the River Test. This is a hands on management role suited to someone who is practical and likes to get things done.

As well as the practical role, the Estate Manager will have full financial responsibility for the management of the estates and be accountable to the Principal for the estates’ financial performance; be responsible for managing all staff and ensure the efficient delivery of all estate administration and compliance.

This is a rare opportunity to apply farm management experience with managing all other aspects of a beautiful estate with extraordinary environmental credentials for another generation in conjunction with the Principal, in a progressive yet sensitive way.
