An opportunity to manage a forward thinking farming business based in Warwickshire covering 1800acres of arable land as part of a Joint Venture operation.

The current farm manager has been with the family business for over 11 years and is moving on to a new challenge but leaves the arable operation in a good position.   In recent years the farm has become an AHDB Monitor farm and now a Strategic farm and the family continue to support the sharing of knowledge with other farming business for the betterment of all in the industry.

You will be responsible for managing a successful farming enterprise which has been in existence near to Leamington Spa since 1930’s.  Being located in the heart of England has helped enable the business to successfully develop a number of diversified entities.  The farming business continues to remain an important element to the families organisation and as a result of the families experience with the diversified businesses benefits from very open minded leadership and a strong management team.

For the right candidate this is a good opportunity to run an established, dynamic and well located farming operation that is continually seeking to develop its farming practices and income generating options from the land.  

The successful candidate will:

Be capable of successfully running the day to day arable operations across multiple locations and with a variety of tenure arrangements. 

Is interested in looking at alternative ways of using the land to generate additional income streams.

Have a working knowledge of Gatekeeper for day to day management of operations, and ideally be FACTS and BASIS qualified.

Need to manage the joint venture operations of the organisation and be open minded to the development of new farming arrangements in the future with third parties.

Take responsibility for the financial governance of the farming operation through the use of budgets and cash flow forecasting as well as having control of all purchases and sales.

Use technology where appropriate for the development of precision farming and ensure it is always deployed constructively.

Have a desire to develop a greater emphasis on running the farming operations with a focus on sustainability and improving long term soil health whilst always maintaining a profitable farming enterprise.

Be ambitious and have a forward thinking approach to capitalising on the changes that the Agricultural Act 2020 will bring.

Be energetic, community spirited and have a positive attitude to other stakeholders that they surround themselves with.

This role would suit a graduate who is open minded and takes a holistic approach to running an arable farming operation.   They will ideally have ten or more years farming experience with some time spent in a management role and are looking for their next career step.  

The manager will be provided with accommodation, a vehicle and expected to live within close proximity to the farming operation.  A competitive package will be offered to the successful candidate which may include support for relocation where appropriate.
