New Expanding Grazing System
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to become part of a brand new and expanding dairy business, which will be milking 300 this spring, moving up to 500 cows in year two in the stunning Forest of Bowland on the Lancashire / Yorkshire border.
We require an experienced Herdsperson to join the enthusiastic and passionate owner to help carry out the day-day running of 300 mainly cross bred cows on a gazing style system.
A total of 300 cows will be calving in a late spring block and milked through a brand new 40:80 Waikato style parlour. Grassland is managed on a rotational grazing system with good tracks and infrastructure.
The successful candidate will have experience of grass-based systems and block calving and help lead the following duties: milking, calving, heat detection & serving and grassland management and feet. Someone who is enthusiastic and a good communicator as well as a willingness to take responsibility are also essential qualities for this role.
In return for your effort, we offer a highly competitive salary, regular time off and a lovely on-farm 3-bedroom house opposite the farm, free from rent and council tax.
For an informal discussion please contact Rob Stephenson on 07557 920255.
