General Farm Manager-Free Range Poultry Layers

This position is based in Boa Vista, Cape Verde on the West Coast of Northern Africa, where you will be first managing the commissioning of this brand new 36k free range facility. The equipment is supplied by a well-known European poultry equipment manufacturer and is an EU funded project. Due to start in June this year, you will be required in-situ prior to birds being placed.

You will have the appropriate skills to:

·         Manage the project and the facility on a day to day basis

·         Ensure all bird welfare and management needs are met

·         Meet budgetary requirements

·         Set and meet egg production planning and future forecasting requirements

·         Ensure any local legislation is adhered to.

The appropriate candidate must have a proven track record within the free range layer industry and have strong leadership skills, being able to successfully train and develop their work colleagues in all aspects of free range egg production management. There will be a small amount of local sales of farm products which you will also be responsible for.

The contract for this job is 12 months and the remuneration package reflects this. Experience of living / working abroad may be beneficial but by no means essential for this role. You will have on-going project and technical support throughout the term of this contract.
