We are very excited to be working with a successful horticulture business that are looking for a Nursery Manager to join the team.

About our Client

Our client has been established for over 20 years and grow a huge variety of plants that go to customers across the UK. They are currently growing in 12 acres of glasshouse in Jersey, growing from seed and cuttings, and growing over 100 million quality plants every year.

About the Role

This exciting role will see the overall responsibility of the whole growing operation over three sites. You will be responsible for a team of around 15, going up to 50 at peak, ensuring staff remain motivated and work efficiently. This very hands-on role will see you looking over all elements of growing top quality plants including irrigation, pest and disease management, and sowing. You will work alongside the Stock and Packaging Manager to ensure wastage is kept to a minimum. The business is keen to progress and you will be excited to support in trials, new product development and expanding the business.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have worked in a commercial growing role before and be confident in growing a wide variety of plants. You will be a confident people leader and have knowledge in all elements of crop production and growing techniques. Communication skills are key, as you will be working alongside other managers to ensure a successful operation. You will hold your PA1 and PA6, and ideally a qualification in horticulture. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the industry and looking for a role where you can grow and develop the team around you and support the business long term.
