Spray Operator / Combine Driver

We are a Family run arable farming business across West Norfolk and we require an experienced spray operator/combine driver.

We crop 2700 acres on both sand and silt land and contract farm and provide contract services on a further acreage.  We grow circa 5,000 tonnes of potatoes for the pre-pack market.

Our machinery is modern and well maintained.  We run a Fendt Rogator 655 sprayer, Fendt 936, 828, 724 and 720 tractors alongside a Quadtrac 580, JCB telehandlers and Lexion 780TT.  We have invested in good storage and workshop facilities.

We have a small team who are enthusiastic and knowledgeable, work to a high standard  and are able to take on responsibility as required and communicate well.  You will need to demonstrate these qualities.  Being qualified, friendly, polite and tidy are imperative.  Good workshop skills and/or experience of drilling, cultivations and so on would be looked at favourably. 

Instructions are sent out via web apps and recording of work is via individual tablets with paper used as back up until each member of staff no longer requires it.  Training and professional development are always available.  Direct contact with our agronomist is welcomed and we will require you to take on a high degree of responsibility for your roles.

We have a mix of high input/high output silt to the west of King’s Lynn and an equal amount rolling sand to the east which is very picturesque, has modern irrigation and an interesting CSS environmental scheme.  We welcome school visits every year onto the farm and are LEAF Marque accredited.  We run a holiday business (www.greatbarnfarm.co.uk) and have further diversified projects all of which makes our business and farms an interesting, varied and progressive place to work.   We are very positive for the future of our farm business and look forward to offering someone a long term and significant role within it.

The position is available immediately although we are expecting to need to wait for the right person.  It comes with a good remuneration package and accommodation if required.
