We require an enthusiastic and experienced herdsperson to carry out day-day duties on our clients 500 cow unit near to Whitchurch, Shropshire.

The Farm

This is an excellent farm which utilizes the infrastructure and grassland to achieve excellent results.   The cows are traditional x bred spring calving cows, milked twice a day achieving around 5000 litres.  The cows are winter housed and fed a simple silage-based ration.  Once calved the cows are out to grass!

The Role

Key responsibilities will include milking, heat detection, administration of medications and vaccinations and general herd health, youngstock, general farm labour, fertility and record keeping.  The successful candidate must have previous dairy experience and ideally have experience of spring calving.
