General Farm Operative

We are an Organic Top fruit farm looking for a full-time permanent skilled Farm Operative Based in Cranbrook, Kent, we are independent, award winning, growers of organic apples and pears. We farm on 102 hectares over 6 sites and supply the independent sector and wholesale markets. We do not supply to the supermarkets.

We are very proud of our team, and continually invest in their training and well-being and have an excellent retention rate. It is our aspiration to become an Employee Owned Trust in the near future

The Role

You will be joining a multi-national skilled team who grow, maintain, harvest and pack the crop. Ideally you will be able to / have;

• Drive / operate a tractor and trailer
• Operate cultivating, mowing, power harrow, pulverising equipment
• Drive a forklift truck – beneficial but training could be provided
• Operate a sprayer as a reliable operator
• PA1 / PA2 would be beneficial but training could be provided
• Maintain / repair agricultural machinery
• Be prepared to grade/pack the fruit
• Being an organic farm many of our operations are weather reactive and you must be  prepared to react promptly to situations as they occur. – this may involve working very early in the morning or late into the evening
• Full Clean Driving Licence
