We have a contract vacancy for a Herdsperson on a 400 acre all grass dairy farm close Bruton, Somerset. 
This herd is July/Aug calving, 180 organic crossbred cows milked via a double 5 tandem      de-laval parlour. While housed cows are in sawdust cubicles and tractor scraped once per day.
A contract foot trimmer is used for routine work and breeding is undertaken with the use of bulls.
Duties will be to do all the milking, look after the parlour and maintain high standards, whilst overseeing the calf rearing with the use of automated machines.
The farmer is well aware of staff getting a work/life balance so the job is not demanding but has the option to take responsibility if required.
A mobile home on farm or houses off farm are an option depending on requirement.
