LIVESTOCK MANAGER

Experienced and ambitious Livestock Manager sought for a thriving family enterprise in North Yorkshire.

We are a family owned Farm Assured enterprise with a suckler herd of heritage Longhorn Cattle, flock of Herdwick breeding ewes, Suffolk X breeding ewes with some pedigree pigs. 

You would take responsibility for the overall keep and well-being of all livestock on the holding.  Including the confident and safe handling of cows, bulls, calving and lambing, tagging, worming, bolussing, administration of medicines if required., feeding up, bedding up etc every aspect of the farm animals.

We operate the Shearwell software data program and you would be responsible for reporting all animal movements, birth registrations and passports, tagging etc.  You should have sound paperwork skills and have a can-do attitude. We have recently acquired a small family butchers shop in the thriving market town of Easingwold, so coordinating with the master butcher on livestock finishing to feed into the retail shop and liaising with the abattoir regarding booking and delivery of animals for slaughter etc.

Some seasonal land work will be required and you should hold all your tickets for Tractor/trailer/loader/ operation etc. Fencing and general repairs are always on the list !

This is a varied and exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced stock person wishing to help nurture, have a voice in and develop the farm to the next level.
