Fera Science Ltd is a national and international centre of excellence for interdisciplinary investigation and problem solving across plant and bee health, crop protection, sustainable agriculture, food and feed quality and chemical safety in the environment. Fera create and deliver integrated, innovative and expert research services and products for their partners in crop protection, chemical and animal health companies, as well as food producers and growers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers and government.  Due to continued growth and success they now require an experienced Crop Science Lead in Molecular detection to head up the team and promote the scientific capabilities of Fera across the wider business and industry.

Fera Science Ltd are looking to recruit a Crop Science Lead in Molecular detection. This role will be overseeing a team of 6 Scientists each of which has a different specialism including: 2 biomathematicians, 1 molecular geneticist, 1 next generation sequencing specialist, and a microbiologist. This role will be responsible for presenting Fera’s research and services at national and international conferences, meetings, and other events. The key focus of this role will be managing and developing the team and reporting relevant information to key stakeholders.  To supplement this the role holder will also be expected to prepare high quality scientific publications for peer reviewed journals and will work closely with the Business Development and marketing teams to grow Fera’s portfolio.
