Assistant Production Manager | Plant Nursery | Kent

£up to 25k.

We are working with a successful tree nursery that is looking for an Assistant Manager to join their team.

About our Client

Our client has been established for over 40 years and is currently growing on over 400 acres. The impressive site consists of plants growing in fields and under protection, a cold store facility and a packhouse.

About the Role

As the assistant manager, you will be responsible for supporting the container unit manager in the day to day running of the nursery. You will be crop walking regularly, monitoring for pests and diseases and irrigation. You will be taking the lead on picking duties, supporting in stocktakes and ensuring all documents are up to date.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have worked with trees or shrubs in the past and understand the pressures of working in a commercial nursery environment. You will be confident in leading a small team or looking to take the step up into a supervisory position. You will hold your forklift and wheeled loading shovel licence, and ideally hold your PA1 and PA6.
