We have a vacancy for a herdsperson seeking career progression on a well-run unit undergoing development with approximately 360 Friesian cows. This family business amalgamated their 2 herds about 10 years ago and then developed their milking site with new cow housing and sand cubicles and then 5 years ago installed a completely new milking facility with 20:40 parlour with auto shedding running with GEA cow scout collars.
We are looking for a team minded person who will value the opportunity to take an active role in the day to day running of this herd.
• The cows are autumn block calving on a forage-based system, with yields around 8500 litres per cow. Milking is shared am and pm and alongside the cubicle housing there is easi-feed silage.
• If you would like to play an important role in the continued success of this business with the ability to apply a sound knowledge of herd health, fertility and hygienic milk production, we would like to hear from you.
• We would offer you a very pleasant, spacious 3-bedroom semi-detached house on the unit, as well as a realistic remuneration package and excellent time off.
• Please contact James Picot on 07802 596633 for further details.
