Pig Research Manager - Suffolk

Are you looking for a fixed term contract (12-14 months) or a research opportunity during a gap between education? This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong academic background with an interest in research and development where you will have the opportunity to design and implement research in swine feeding and nutrition.

You will have previous experience of running technical trials and have proven managerial skills. In addition, you will have the ability to collate and interpret data and have a keen interest in agriculture, and in driving improvement through precision technology. Managing a small team including farm and technical staff, your role will include overall responsibility for setting trial protocols, planning and executing trials, as well as overseeing analysis and delivery of results. In addition, you will also oversee the Technology center including the farm unit. Working as part of the Technical team, you will also assist the Technical Manager where required in feed nutritional formulations and project work.

About you:

• Degree level educated or higher.
• Knowledge of livestock production as an industry (preferably pig) .
• Experience of dealing with livestock .
• Experience of statistical packages, microsoft excel and similar Microsoft packages.
• Experience of scientific trials and report writing.
• Physically able to get involved in practical tasks.
• Full UK Driver's Licence.
