Crop Nutrition Agronomist

Omex is the market leader in liquid fertilisers in the UK, manufacturing, selling and exporting a unique range of plant nutrients and crop health promoters, nationally & internationally. 

The role of Crop Nutrition Agronomist is a technical sales role. The purpose is to maximise the sales of foliar and speciality fertilisers by providing technical solutions to customers’ needs, by building strong relationships with existing customers and building business with new customers.

As a Crop Nutrition Agronomist, you will be expected to prepare, agree and implement a coherent sales plan that will achieve growth and deliver exceptional customer services.

Working closely with District Sales Managers together with distributor and independent agronomists you will develop close working relationships to offer support and meet customer requirements. Where technically appropriate, you will influence their decision-making to promote the Omex product range. Principle focus will be on potatoes, field vegetables and sugar beet but will also include combinables and specialty crops.

You will be expected to develop technical expertise in a particular crop sector, such as roots or brassicas, as well as expertise in particular product groups, such as plant health promoters.

We are looking for candidates who have an agricultural qualification together with BASIS and FACTS. The successful candidate will have at least three years field experience and can show success in advising and selling to growers. With a ‘hunter instinct’ the job holder should have a well-developed commercial awareness and good negotiation skills.
