Assistant herd manager

Kemble Farms is part of the Bathurst Estate near Cirencester and has a modern dairy unit with 950 cows. We are seeking an experienced assistant herd manager to join the management team working closely with the dairy manager and deputising when required.

The cows are milked 3x day by a dedicated milking team which allows the management team to focus on cow health and welfare. The dairy is modern with excellent handling facilities and cattle accommodation.

The successful candidate will be passionate about dairy cows and ensure the highest standards of animal welfare are maintained.  You will have experience of herd health management, IT recording systems and staff management. You should be an excellent communicator to be able to motivate and supervise an experienced team. You should have a positive attitude and be committed to maintaining the highest standards set at Kemble Farms dairy.

The role offers a great amount of autonomy and responsibility. For this level of responsibility, we offer a detached 4 bed house within walking distance of the unit and a salary to attract the best.  Regular time off and continuing training and development are also offered.
