Beef Stockperson

Experienced, enthusiastic stockperson and general farm worker required for an agricultural estate near Marlborough Wiltshire.

An excellent opportunity for a well-motivated, dedicated individual to work alongside the farm manager providing day-to-day care for a 160 cow pedigree and commercial suckler herd with breeding youngstock and finishing units. Modern purpose built cattle housing and handling systems with TMR feeding.

The successful applicant will be fully involved with all aspects of management and husbandry, including replacement and pedigree policies, herd health and nutrition. Duties will include daily stock checks, feeding and bedding, as well as playing a key role in seasonal activities including calving and silage making. Some machinery operations including hedge cutting are required together with general maintenance and fencing. A flexible approach to working during busy periods is essential.

Interest in pedigree cattle and experience in recording animal performance data, foot trimming and AI would be an advantage.

Applicants must hold a full, clean driving licence. ATV, spraying and telehandler certification is preferred.
