Ever wanted to farm in your own right but not had the capital?  We have a contract vacancy that is as close as it comes.  
We require a self-motivated and experienced individual/couple to take on this farm and run it on a day-to-day basis. The 240 low input crossbred cows calve mainly in Autumn with a small spring group and spend as much time grazing as possible.  Housed through the winter in cubicles with mats and auto scrapers, the cows are milked through a 20:40 Dairymaster with ACR’s and feeders.  Winter feeding is easyfeed grass silage. The position offers a great deal of autonomy as this is a satellite unit to the owner’s other two units so we require someone who will treat the cows as their own and be capable of making good decisions while communicating effectively and regularly with the owners.  
You will be responsible for all aspects of running the unit on a daily basis including milking, feeding, calving, calf rearing, grassland management, herd health, breeding, all record keeping.  
There is a modern five-bedroom farmhouse available on the unit free from rent, rates and council tax.
