Renumeration

Competitive rate of pay:
BASIC + COMMISSION + PERFORMANCE BONUS, with COMPANY VEHICLE

 

Job Function

Within your given sales territory and reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our established commercial activity, whilst also driving forwards to find new business opportunities. This will involve close liaison and visits to our existing and potential dealer customers, promoting our products and offering product support where required. You will be an integral part of the sales process, dealing with day-to-day sales enquiries, quotations, and product order configurations. Home based and self-organised you will be expected to demonstrate evidence and reporting of regular customer contact and visits.

 

Essential Duties

  • Organize and self-motivate your day-to-day commercial activity to actively promote the company’s interests, products and services within your dealer customer base.
  • Meet expected commercial volumes, and aspire to achieve ambitious sales targets, in line with turnover and margin expectations.
  • Build strong and loyal relationships with your defined sales area customers.Participate in exhibitions, demonstrations, dealer open days and other events on a local, regional, and national basis.
  • Take a supporting and balanced role towards our OEM business partners.
  • Maintain product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment.
  • Assist with the maintenance of customer contacts to support our marketing activity.
  • Provide feedback on competitors, market trends, price levels, forecasting, etc.
  • Assist dealers where required in demonstrations or farm visits, including support in closing deals, product recommendations and semi-technical after-sales issues.
  • Implement discount structures within the designated dealer network, establishing bonuses and incentives.
  • Provide clear and technically accurate purchase orders to ensure we supply the correct product specifications, therefore maintaining our strong reputation for excellent quality of supply.
  • Participate in and actively contribute to presentations, seminars, and training courses
  • Undertake occasional foreign visits to our parent company to maintain colleague relationships and receive product training.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • You will be a self-starter, with good organisation and planning skills.
  • You will have a solid background in a sales role within the agricultural industry sector, demonstrating a target driven mindset and proven commercial success. (However, depending on the applicant, if you have a background in technical / product support or similar, have a good commercial acumen and want to develop your career further this would also be of interest).
  • You will have excellent people skills, with the ability and confidence to form long term and profitable professional relationships.
  • You will have an honest, pro-active, and hardworking mindset that reflects our company’s philosophy. With a good understanding of the importance of reactive and sustained customer service.
  • You will have a practical hands-on experience with farm machinery, with a fundamental technical knowledge of tractors and a mechanical engineering background being distinct advantages.
  • You will be able to engage with end users, relating to their working practices and product needs.
  • You will have strong negotiation skills covering price, costs, delivery, and product specifications.
  • You will have a good all-round standard of literacy with proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office packages and CRM systems.
  • A full UK driving licence is required, you should be prepared to travel regularly within your given sales area. (Ideally residing within your sales area or willing to re-locate).
  • You will have experience of setting up events and exhibition
