Farm Manager
Salary: £45,000 plus accommodation package
Location: Rodway Farm, Cannington Campus, TA5 2LS
To plan, manage and monitor the activities of Rodway farm to ensure it delivers outstanding educational, standards of welfare, financial and physical performance. The farm manager will lead a team of staff in the operational management of the farm enterprises working alongside academic staff to give students an excellent learning experience in all aspects of the farm operations.
The farm showcases the highest standards of agricultural practice, and the farm manager is key in enabling successful working relationships with external stakeholders ensuring it is at the forefront of any future developments and potential investment opportunities.
Students are an integral part of the farming operation and a clear understanding of this is a necessity. Students typically assist with milking, cattle handling, calf rearing, field operations including silage making, beef and sheep tasks. Timely communication with academic staff is essential to ensure that students have every opportunity to carry out work on the farm.
There are significant responsibilities to provide the maintenance of exceptional safety standards and the continual development of the Colleges reputation as an exemplar agricultural facility.
