We are retained to appoint an enthusiastic Progressive Farm Manager for a mixed farm on a traditional Private Estate in South Shropshire.
About the Farm
- 1,100 acres of arable combinable crops and HLS scheme
- 260 cow autumn calving Jersey dairy herd plus youngstock
- Good farm infrastructure and facilities
- Located in picturesque countryside within reach of local market towns.
- Wider estate activities closely integrated with the farm.
About You
A proven and experienced track record in:-
- Good farm financial performance
- Successful block calving and grazing based dairy systems
- Demonstrable good technical performance with cows, grass and cereals production
- Modern crop production systems
- Managing a small, motivated team
- A forward thinking, positive and driven attitude for success
- Competent keeping detailed records – physical data, business planning and financial control
- Sound knowledge of science with appropriate formal qualifications
- Technologically and computer literate with previous adoption of latest managerial techniques
- Excellent communication skills to manage the team and report to the owner and advisors with confidence and a sense of humour, as well as happy working with the wider estate team.
- Interested in wildlife, biodiversity, conservation and woodland management.
- Enthusiastic about ELMS, new farming techniques, soil health and carbon sequestration
- Exceptional references required from previous employers and/or past business results
