We are looking for an inspiring leader, who is a determined, experienced, innovative, and dynamic Operations Manager to help take this business to the next level. Our client has successfully supplied essential services to agricultural clients internationally for over 75 years . This will be a rewarding role, with the autonomy of leading a team to drive efficiency and productivity within the Agricultural sector.

This role will suit those who have been in a team management position previously who really know how to get the best out of people; you will have an extensive knowledge of UK Agriculture and have a friendly but decisive personality. Role activities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all operations.
  • Analyse processes and areas to develop where necessary.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers.
  • Maintain and improve the communication between all departments as well as with clients.
  • Ensure growth of the agricultural and supply chain sectors.
  • Ensure profitability.
  • Monitor budgets to ensure target are met.
  • Lead by example ensure the business is a great place for everyone to work by maintaining positive team-oriented operations.
  • Attract and retain the best talent through effective recruiting, coaching and mentoring in collaboration with TA and local HR.
  • Ensure all compliance with HSE, legal, finance, environmental, welfare.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • A degree or relevant professional qualifications
  • Extensive operations management experience would be strong asset
  • Previous significant industry experience in the UK agriculture/food safety sector is an advantage
  • Knowledge of diverse business functions e.g. HR, customer service, finance
  • Sound negotiator with excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  • Ability to make quick decisions
  • Thought People leader with a strong ability to build and lead a large team, including selecting and developing talent, building trust, coaching team members, managing performance resulting in high performing teams
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to confidently manage C-level business relationship and key stakeholders
  • Very strong command of both written and spoken English
  • Regional travel to key stakeholders

Relationships and reporting lines

  • Reporting to the Senior Manager of the sector
  • Line management and oversee of all employees within sector
  • Relationship responsibility for all customers, past present and future
  • Continued relationships with all suppliers to the business
  • Relationships with all 3rd party service suppliers to the business
